My 8-string console steel design is based on a combination of the vintage deco styling of some of the lap and console steels of the 1940’s and the dual pickup design of the Fender Stringmaster. The result is a great looking, very playable instrument with a tone that’s reminiscent of the the great steel guitar sounds of the 50’s...perfect for Western swing, vintage Honky-Tonk country, lanquid Island serenades or jazz as cool or as hot as you like it. |

Models include the “Woody” with a simple oil finish, Custom Color in high-gloss lacquer and Satin Lacquer in black and transparent stained colors. Wood choices include Poplar, Alder, Pecan, Walnut. Maple and special figured woods. |

Pickups are special-order RioGrande “stringmaster” single coils which are available in 3 styles: “Tallboy”, “Halfbreed” and “Muy Grande”. Check out Rio Grande’s web site for more information. Descriptions of their Telecaster pickups will be applicable to these pickups. All models are available in a lap steel version without leg sockets. Console models with leg sockets may also be played lap-style as the sockets are completely recessed. |

And speaking of Leg Sockets...I’ve been able to procure a good quantity of precision-machined leg sockets suitable for steel guitars and other instruments. I can make some of these available for building projects or as replacements on vintage instruments for a reasonable price. Contact me for pricing. Pickups are also available separately.
